Welcome to Miami Beach Golf Club!

Originally opened in 1923 as Bayshore Golf Course, this historic club was part of developer Carl Fisher's Alton Beach subdivision, designed to attract wealthy winter residents. It quickly gained popularity among tourists, with three big golf courses opening within the same year.

In World War II, the U.S. Army utilized the course as a training ground. Soldiers could be seen running through the palm trees amidst smoke grenades, adding an interesting chapter to its history.

In 1944, the course faced potential redevelopment when Chicago investors planned to build upscale homes. However, disapproving neighbors successfully convinced the city to intervene, leading to the preservation of the golf course.

By 1954, a new Mediterranean-style clubhouse replaced the original one that developer Carl Fisher had built.

Fast forward forty-eight years, and Miami Beach Golf Club underwent a remarkable transformation. A $10 million renovation project completely revamped the course. Every blade of grass and most of the trees were removed, lakes were drained and redesigned, and the irrigation system was replaced. Hills and bunkers were bulldozed and resculpted. The old clubhouse was demolished, making way for a new and improved one.

The City of Miami Beach enlisted Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates for this extensive transformation. Their efforts turned an under-utilized course into the elegant and highly esteemed Miami Beach Golf Club.

Now beautifully restored, this landmark is sure to be enjoyed by both South Florida residents and visitors from all over the world for many years to come.
